Phil Mickelson earned his psychology degree from Arizona State University in 1992 after winning three NCAA golf titles and a NCAA team title in 1990. Now 20 years later, a Mickelson is leading the Sun Devil men's golf program as it continues its quest for its third NCAA title, joining Phil's 1990 and the 1996 team that brother Tim was a part of...and now that brother Tim is the ASU head men's golf coach.
ASU Cronkite School of Journalism student Isaac Easley produced this feature on Phil and Tim, and mom Mary provided the great photos of these Sun Devils growing up. When Phil was in Phoenix in early February, one could tell he was excited and proud to have his brother as the person in charge of the Sun Devil program.
This week Tim will be leading the men's golf team in the 40th annual Thunderbird Invitational at Karsten Golf Course, while brother Phil will be trying to win another major championship in Augusta. The Thunderbird Invitational is both Friday (36 holes) and Saturday and is free to the public.
