Mixed Up - Beat Blender and Mixmaster 1200
7 months ago
Mixed Up is a collection of appliances designed for the DJ who feels as comfortable in the kitchen as well as behind turntables. They bring out the flavors and colors of the culinary world and feed them down your ear canals in a way you have never seen or heard before.
Original Hamsters – the company behind these unique appliances – is working on a number of instruments in their secret facilities in Montreal and Rovaniemi. The first two of our instruments are featured on this video: the Beat Blender and the Mixmaster 1200.
The Beat Blender is a remixing instrument that takes blending tracks and chopping up samples quite literally. Select your favourite fruit, insert it into the Blender and hear what it sounds like. Add as many fruit as you want and select the blending mode from 10 different options.
The Mixmaster 1200 is a wireless scratching device for the turntablist who prefers to deliver his/her scratches like a 5 star chef. As you can see, the Mixmaster does not have any beaters attached to it. This is because it has small laser powered plasma emitter beaters that actually heat up the airwaves around the device itself producing the unique sounding aural explosions.

I should have something new to show next week. It's a little bit different from these two as it's not a controller. A toaster is actually next on the list after that.
