This was the official Pan African Faith Based and Youth Mobilization towards COP17 in Durban. It brought together all the key actors in the FBOs, CSOs, Youth Movements and other climate change actors from all over Africa, Europe, Canada, Asia, and USA. It draws the support from global Climate Justice movements and global Faith Based movements. We Have Faith is a campaign slogan with a very strong yet positive message about climate change. It demands action, and gives options and solutions. We Have Faith Campaign believes the COP 17 in which was held last year 2011 in Durban would find a lasting and sustainable solution to protect people and the planet from climate change!
We Have Faith Act Now For Climate Justice: campaign had a caravan for youth from 19 countries, the caravan started from Nairobi to Durban in November 2011- the Caravan clocked 12,733 Kilometers. Then the Caravan was hosted by an interfaith Rally in Durban on 27 November and an Interfaith Prayer on December 4. That saw all religious group coming together for climate justice. Desmond Tutu Chaired the movement and later joined by the COP17 President. The youth had a peaceful march to show the world leaders their quest to fight for climate justice.
I filmed each country that we pass through, showing all the activities we had especially concerts and long drives, as well issue affecting climate change in developing countries. I had a lot of feeds backs from the local people- and all this was made possible through great initiative by donors and well wishers. The participant brought the entire experience to life. Thanks Ryan and Karmen Bergit and Nancy. Susy and Dave, Kama and Davida. Thanks to Norwegian Church Aid Youth.
