This is the first in a series of videos written, filmed and produced by CITIZEN U, a Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Broome County and Cornell University 4-H Youth Development Program.

CITIZEN U uses a CCE 4-H Signature Program, Youth Community Action, to promote civic engagement, workforce preparation, and asset development among at-risk youth. This spoken word performance serves as a capstone project for the CITIZEN U Teen Leaders, as they reflect on the impact of their community improvement efforts, after serving as delegates to the Youth Civic Engagement Community Forum, Binghamton and 4-H Capital Days in Albany, New York, and their work with the City of Binghamton and Broome County Legislature.

Special thanks to Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan and the members of the Broome County Legislature for their continuing support of CITIZEN U and participation in this video.

CITIZEN U is part of the Children, Youth and Families At-Risk (CYFAR) Program, Sustainable Community Projects (SCP) and is supported by Smith Lever funds from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
