    It is caused by the vibration of the lens gear and the drive gear. The best solution to avoid the sound is to use an external mic, not attached to the camera. See: youtube.com/watch?v=T5qL7rIE_rc&fmt=22

    wow this seems really cool and what a wonderful price i see the focusing makes noise when you turn it but that does not bother me because i never use an on camera microphone anyway i boom all of my audio or i use a wireless i am looking forward to ording this.

    Nice product.

    Are you considering adding a industry standard square whip/crank mount to the design? That would make this a no brainer.
