Just a quick video to show how the D|Focus sets up.

Note: this is the first one built and the current model has a few differences. Nothing major though, the functionality is the same, just a few cosmetic things.

Marking plates and indicator pins are now available!

This looks to be the absolute nuts, and something I've been looking for for ages. I hope you ship to the UK as I'll be placing an order soon.
Well done I hope you sell loads, guerilla film makers salute you!

    Yes, $20 international shipping.

I don't know how you can ship for $20 and if I order something of similar size and weight from Amazon its over $50!!

I ship USPS priority mail small flat rate boxes. In order to fit the D|Focus in there it has to be disassembled, but assembly instructions are included and it's worth it to keep costs down. I am not actually charging $18 for international shipping.

Are you going to add a marker and a mark disc since those are the two things that people buy follow focuses for? Plus it's a little bulky and i wouldn't mind paying say $50 to $100 more for a smaller one.
  • David Aldrich plus 7 months ago
Yes it will be an optional add-on: twitpic.com/44lb9

Jag35 sells a very nice set of standard rails: web.me.com/jehug/JAG35.com/Accessories.html

Nice! Do you support lenses like canon EF 16-35 mm 2.8 L?
  • David Aldrich plus 6 months ago
Measure the outer diameter of your lenses Focusing ring, then compare with the chart on this page: designbydave.net/dfocus/gears.html Error on the side of smaller if you are unsure.

Can you get the lens gears in black, like in your video?
  • David Aldrich plus 6 months ago
The gear in the video is the Redrockmicro lens gear, which I actually recommend over my gears. They are expensive (~$64) but work very well, are easy and quick to install, and look more professional. Mine are not available in black.

Is the idea to order yours and order RR at the same time?
  • David Aldrich plus 4 months ago
Yes, I would recommend the Redrock lens gear.

One more question? Do you ship by US Postal Service to Canada? This is the favored method for shipping to Canada. UPS is slow and they have hidden costs: $50 for clearing customs!
  • David Aldrich plus 6 months ago
    Yes, USPS shipping to Canada.

Thanks for prompt reply, I am placing my order now.
