The story of GeST - a tool developed by researchers at City University London (city.ac.uk) in consultation with users with aphasia.
GeST is a computer based therapy which uses gesture recognition technology and a motivating series of environments (including a novel 3D world) to allow users to practise gesture therapy exercises independently and in their own home.
This video explains some of the challenges faced by people with aphasia (a communication difficulty caused by damage to the brain) and the opportunities GeST offers for rehabilitation.
GeST was created at City University London as a part of the GReAT research project. (soi.city.ac.uk/great)
