If this is your first video, you have my sincere congratulations! Very haunting and the clarity of the images is impressive. What was your original camera frame resolution on these? I want to see more.
  •
  • Samuel Cockedey 2 years ago
Thanks for the support Edvard! You've got some amazing shots in your Northern Light video too. The original images are 3456 x 2304 RAWs which leaves at lot of room for re-framing in post. If you are using Rebel DSLRs going through a RAW developing software to bring contrast and colors up is essential as I find the images rather dull compared to the ones of my 5D. Anyhow, I want to do a bit more before releasing the next one to add more variety to it, but unfortunately we don't get interesting skies as often as you do in Seattle here!

it's beautiful, i like it a lot. The choice of music, with no voice, is perfect. I also like that frontal take of a building, and how the lights turn on and off (maybe that part is too fast). I guess you could have added more variety of the views (some of them are a bit repetitive) but it's just to say something slightly negative. In general is a great job, i'm glad i watched it.

Brilliant work ever. Probably if the world is going to end, your video must be archived and sent into the space so that the next generation of human beings can see how beautiful and developed was THE earth.

I was very tierd and as soon as i watched your video i was totally relaxed and forgot all the fatigue !

Wow, great first shots. It's so steady and flows so well. How did you do it? I know you used lightroom and virtual dub, but what specifically did you do with that hocus pocus? Gahh! You make me sooo envious of your skills. I want to go to Tokyo now.

This is absolutely beautiful!! Somewhere at about the 70% mark, there was a lot of smoke coming out from the middle foreground. Any idea what that was?

Really, though, this was an excellent project!! Very well executed! Beautiful!!!

Seeing your video makes me long for my next trip to Japan in a month or so. You are lucky to live there. I only get to visit every few months. Any hope for a downloadable version? I would love to carry it around with me on my iPhone to use for relaxation.

  • Samuel,
Astonishing work. The cinematic, narrative, musical, editing sensibility of "Remanence:Variance" would make Ron Fricke and Godfrey Reggio proud. We hope to keep in touch with you.
