I worked as a creative director at Kantana's animation division for nearly 2 years. My main job was developing "Khan Kluay". Originally pitched as a TV show... the studio decided to expand the idea into a 3D animated feature. This was an early test to show the studio and investors what I imagined the feature to look like. This short piece was directed and art directed by me, and co-directed by the ever talented Aaron Sorensen. Aaron was also the character design lead on the project. At this stage of development, there were still a lot of bugs in the rig... but worked as a proof of concept.

The original Khan Kluay concept was based on a series of short stories by a Thai children's book author. I wanted to keep a soft, artsy children's book feel. The studio wanted to make the film look like a Pixar movie... but without Pixar's budget, or experience. This test was my compromise. -tod polson
