This short sting animation was created as a background piece to be played in a continuous loop for the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI) annual award ceremony, The concept behind his intricate paper sculpture is to reflect the fact that all designers begin their thought process with a blank sheet of paper. Ideas are first unclear but soon expand and develop into something big and beautiful.
The animation is made using stop motion and is of a paper craft structure I created. The camera rotates through it’s intricate detail, gradually revealing the IDI logo within the design.
The elegant piece reflects the prestige of design in the awards.
My animation was lucky enough to be one of the few chosen to be showcased at the IDI Awards at the Sugar Club, Dublin, October 2011.
