Thanks, Matt. I made a few changes and I'm replacing it now. It's nice to have a fully functioning HV cam to play with again.

This is a new HV30 and I hope it lasts longer than my others :)
I shot this is on my kitchen counter. The room in the background was my dining room but now its a studio/editing/storage room.

Do you typically shoot in ONE setting (cinemode, tv mode)? I'm still monkeying around with it and haven't found one that I like for everything.

My first hv20 had the lcd ruined by a drop of water then a week later the bottom was ripped off when the tripod fell. It still records fine but its not easy to use.

The hv30 sensor is going bad and I can only get a good image if I shoot in tv mode at 1/250 or higher. It still makes a good stunt cam :)

Usually I shoot in cinemode but for faster moving stuff I use tv mode.

excellent. that looks like a really nice tripod. mine is falling apart. what kind is that?

It's a bogen 3036 tripod with a manfroto 701rc2 fluid head. The tripod is about 15 years old and I have never had a problem with it.

a memory surfaced today of an old girlfriend, a ballerina in seattle. she broke into my third floor apartment a few times. each time i came home to find hundreds of rose petals scattered throughout my space. eventually i stopped cleaning them up.
