I wanted to see the differences in noise handling when using gain. All these cameras use the factory preset standard profiles. For sure, tweaking the profile settings is a desirable option and when used in an equally tweaked workflow one can really customize and optimize the images to a personal taste. However, to be able to compare these cameras all profiles were set to their default values. My personal opinion is that both FS100, C300 and the 5DmkIII perform extremely well when gain is pushed heavily. Canon has done a remarkable job cleaning up the 5D, resulting in very clean pictures, but in the same time a lot of details has been sacrificed to achieve this. The real favorites are the FS100 and the C300, both producing super clean images, with the latter combining low noise with a highly detailed image. Impressing when remembering how noisy +9dB looked like only a few years ago!
