Grand Prairie Office of Emergency Management tested the city’s emergency procedures, plans and policies Friday morning with a full scale exercise simulating a fire at the Public Safety Building.
The realistic exercise that included 15 mock burn victims brought a full response from police, fire, along with a crew from the Streets Department to block roadways for emergency vehicles and Parks Department to assist with evacuees that were transported via the city’s Grand Connection bus service to the Summit Active Adult Center. During the exercise, the city’s 911 system was transferred to the City of Irving.
