i don't really no why you put this horrible music under the video. it doesn't fit at all!!
also, snowboard films always look better and less stressfull, if you use a tripod to shoot it.
    but the pictures are okay!

The snowboard scenes *were* shot with a fluid tripod. They are as steady as it's possible, as the camera was all the way zoomed in (I was very far from the terrain).

As for the music, your complaints at the Creative Commons board please. There are only 60 albums to choose that are under the CC-BY license (the only Creative Commons license that allows A/V syncing without restrictions). I know that other videographers are using whatever music they feel like it to, but that's not exactly legal, so I avoid it.

You shot some really nice footage here - kudos.

I have seen many CC-BY licenses on ccmixter.org. People create music and other users mix it up - pretty cool - you should check it out.

Actually, most tracks there are CC-BY-NC, not CC-BY. The real problem is the fact that the site does not let you search by license like Jamendo does (at least haven't found a way to do so). In order to find a CC-BY track, you have to literally go through all of them. I don't have time to go through thousands of songs just to find a CC-BY one.

Thanks, this was helpful. However, are all the samples/remixes on CCMixter original work, or at least, remixes of CC music? You see, the last thing I want is to use a remix/sample that was licensed on CCMixter under the CC-BY, only to find out that the original song that the mix was based on was a commercial RIAA-owned song... I gotta be careful you see.

Your too cautious! haha. I like the snowboarding, and the shot at the end with the icy lake. Gotta teach me how to do the boxes and nice credits at the end. :O)
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
You use "pan/crop" from the right click scene menu. For the credits you use one of the standard vegas credit rolls.

This was excellent, I can't wait to get my HV20. Hopefully tomorrow.

As for free music, you should also check out the Internet Archive:
    archive.org/details/audio

    And also Ourmedia:

All media at these sites is licensed either CC or Public Domain.

How did you go about replacing the video with new music while keeping the comments?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
There's a "replace video" option in the settings.

The video is really nice now, and I like the snowborders' effects a lot!

yeah, i really like it now. the music fits great to the video.
and i also think you made the best of this snowboard shots. but as i've viewed many pro snowboard movies, i can give you a tip for this shots: you have to stand right next to the action. shots from far away only look good if the rider is doing a big jump with much airtime. otherwise, this jib shots look good if you film it with a fisheye lens.
