We caught up with Manitoba Hal recently as he travelled through Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Since it was almost exactly the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Hal performed this version of the Hi Henry Brown song Titanic Blues from 1932. Instead of his trademark ukulele, he played his resonator guitar, and proved that he's a master of that too.
We shot the video in the historic and beautiful Astor Theatre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, the oldest performing arts venue in Nova Scotia. Big thanks to Chris Ball for accommodating us at short notice.
Camera and post-production: Stephen Cooper and Katy Hopkins, audio recording and post-production: Cameron Dexter.
