the whole process of finding the idea, designing and building took 4,5 months. as you were guessing, i had to build about 3-7 prototypes for each pop-up. at a certain point it's quite impossible to calculate the differents parts of the paper mechanics, so it's more like an trail&error method.

I wondered if you would like to make a video with the same stuff but with a still support. This way it could give the illusion of magicly changing from shot to shot...You would have to use a cover though in order to hide cover differences. Maybe it's not such an original idea anyway...It just occured to me watching your video that it may look cool, at first I tought it was what you wanted to do.
