In honor of her milestone 50th Birthday, here is my childhood tribute to one of the greatest singles by one of the greatest pop superstars in the history of recorded music: Paula Abdul!!! It was taped at the end of the same summer when I paid tribute to Madonna's "Vogue", at the same dearly departed venue in the Hampton Beach Casino: "Star Tracks". Unfortunately, "Cold Hearted" turned out to be a re-recording by a cover artist. I remain convinced I would have given a much better performance had it been the real thing.
But watching me go from initial disappointment to pop-fueled exhilaration makes it all hilariously worthwhile.
Happy Birthday Paula Abdul, and thank you for music that fills me with happiness: then AND now!! ;)
