It will make an interesting contrast to Scorcese's "Last Temptation of Christ." I wonder if Von Trier chose Dafoe for that reason.

Last winter, I found myself thumbing through a book of William Blake plates from his illustrations for the Divine Comedy. I thought, "I want to make a film with these as my storyboard". When I saw the still of the couple on the tree, and from Von Trier, holy shit is right- I can't wait to see the whole picture

I'm looking forward to this getting banned in Australia, forcing me to buy it from overseas. I doubt it will get to the cinema uncut here. From reading the wikipedia page, this is pretty much exactly the kind of thing that gets banned in Australia.

As per the movies i have seen in my hole life this movie put me in such a position of keeping me disturbed for more than 2 days..and still is. perhaps the best performance of Willem Dafoe i have seen..and Charlotte Gainsbourg was unbelievable…never seen any actress do that before….As like the review this is the most beautiful worst movie i have ever seen…..I seriously doubt it being released in India.Oscar would be the best thing that would happen to this movie,sure it will.
And don't forget it'll screw the shit out you too..ha ha ha.

I saw it and I think it's a bunch of artsy fartsy, gore porn bullcrap. But that's just my opinion.
