Warren Fahey's Australian Bush Orchestra interprets the music of a bygone Australia. This is an Australian bush version of the American minstrel troupe favourite 'Old Dan Tucker'. The tune was brought to Australia by visiting troupes in the 1850s and 60s gold rush era. It opens with the singing of (then) 92 year old Susan Colley recorded by Fahey in 1973. The orchestra then takes over! The song is from the new album and is on iTunes etc. The archival film footage is from 1971 when Fahey took an ABC camera unit to Nariel Creek to capture one of the last old time dances. The clip was conceived by Warren Fahey and edited by Mic Gruchy, Sydney, 2012. For more info visit the Australian Folklore Unit site
