The Book of Haggai Series - The year was 1968 and John Akhwari was sent by his home country of Ethiopia to compete in the marathon in the Mexico city Olympics. Soon after the race began Akhwari fell, badly cutting his knee and dislocating the joint. Yet, he continued to run, finishing a full hour behind the other runners. When asked by reporters why he continued running, he said, "My country did not send me 10,000 miles just to start the race; they sent me to finish the race."
Like John Akhwari, we all have a race to finish ... something God has called us to do. But following through and completing His will is fraught with difficulties. That's why The Book of Haggai was written ... to help us finish!
Finishing God's will requires pressing through obstacles.
