Collecting and cooking sap to make maple syrup outside of Frederic, Wisconsin. I used to do this when I was younger, so I tagged along with my camera when I had the chance last week. If you're not familiar, the sap is collected and then run through an evaporator to remove most of the water. Three of those white buckets will make about a pint of syrup. Wikipedia says (tinyurl.com/2ekcox) the Algonquin word for maple syrup is "Sinzibuckwud" which means "drawn from wood." I kinda like that.

Oh, and it's more fun if you turn HD on.

Music is "Settler" by Balmorhea, slightly rearranged by me. (tinyurl.com/BalmorheaAmazon)
