Our favorite celebrant this year.
Let me tell you a short story... So everyone thinks I'm this big arrogant American right? I accept! LOL. Odd thing is, I tend to avoid working with celebrities, politicians, and especially TF jobs despite the uncountable collaborations with big time names in the past. I'm not looking for fame, I'm in a position now where I have to support my family and fame (by itself) doesn't pay the bills. I cannot assume this as definite, of course, but as we get older we tend to take less financial risks. So these days, I'm a lot more focused on the average joe. Why? Because the average joe is who we are, and the crowd we can be more transparent with. Because of this transparency, we're able to reach limits outside of protocol and deliver more than what everyone is used to. The average joe (or jane) works hard and is more adept in recognizing the value produced by them and their peers. More or less, we understand each other. Every once in awhile we find gems in the industry who carry the characteristics of the average patron, but walk among the stars.
Angel and her family are these gems. The first time I met her mom, brother, and coordinator, I was smitten. I have to admit, and I did politely say this, that I had no idea who most of the celebrities are in the Philippines because I wasn't born there, raised, or even cared half as much as I do now about the Philippines compared to when I was still in the USA. I didn't know who Angel was, so they couldn't leverage the name for me to take the job anyway. However, they were so humble that they didn't leverage her name at all! I was talking to real people. We already had an event scheduled that collided with her birthday. Because of Angel's family's charming first impression, I called forth an alternate team for the other event. Coincidentally, Carlos who currently heads Chosenbydestiny in the USA was out here for vacation and wanted to shoot with us for all of the events in March.
To sum it all up, we adore Angel's family and whenever we have the chance to watch her show "LUV U" on ABS CBN (Please tune in on Sunday afternoons), we reminisce back to her birthday event and the really fun pre-debut we shot for her and her family. Until we see each other again! ^^
