This 12 and a half minute documentary which made up my final year dissertation project for my degree in journalism aims to find out whether the 3D format has a future in the movie industry. By looking at parallels with the 3D phases of the '50's and '80's, I aim to find out whether Hollywood has spent too much money on something that's designed to be cyclical. Film historians, critics, writers and producers give me the inside line on whether this technology really is the gimmick audiences claim it to be.
