:: ABOUT THE FILM
This film is presented in Polyvision; a 4:1 ratio. To my knowledge only one other film has been made in this format; Abel Gance's 1927 film Napoleon. It involved the simultaneous projection of three reels of silent film arrayed in a horizontal row, making for a total aspect ratio of 4:1 (1.33×3:1). Thanks to digital technology, I was able to fit these all in one 3000px x 750 px frame in Final Cut Pro. Unfortunately, this non-standard frame did some funny things to the program, including making the reds render out badly. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it!
:: ABOUT TITANOBOA
60 million years ago in the sweltering heat of a climate 6 to 8 degrees warmer than today lived a monstrous snake called Titanoboa. It was only at these warmer temperatures which are at the upper end of climate change predictions that the cold blooded beast was able to reach these sizes. Today, as fossilized life is exhumed and burned relentlessly to fuel modern progress, primordial spirits have been stirring. This fossil beast has been brought back to life as a provocative omen on the eve of catastrophe.
