A number of voting suppression laws are being passed in various U.S. states. They are not explicitly preventing people to vote but effectively they are, by requiring for instance a picture-ID. A number of African-Americans, elderly or students do not have a driver license. These laws are impacting them directly. Laura Murphy, from the ACLU's legislative office in Washington, tells how these laws remind her of an earlier time in America.
