Particles + Optical Flow / Distort?

Yeppers sorta... it is a feedback based composition that I had, tweaked it a bit, and started tearing into your optical flow feedback setup, changed up some of the downsampling and accumulator stuff, did a little bit of CI jiggering with blend modes.

I need to find the links on the stuff (including the orig Jitter setup) to post about that and your plugin. The last two days have been a bit "post and run".

BTW, I want to take the moment to not only compliment you on your plugins, but also your "setups". I find your approach to be interesting.

Thanks! Im curious, is that 'french' interesting or actual interesting? (I kid!) What exactly do you mean by the way? Im glad folks like you are using the plugins, because you are taking things in a different direction and making them "your own". I love seeing the different takes people have on these sorts of things. Theres so much room to explore, but so many folks just take the tools at face value and then don't go anywhere with it. It makes it dull, and lowers standards all around, so, uh, thank *you* !

Ha! Well, you throw in CI filters occasionally to pull stuff off... like in this latest, as well as the rutt. Even the vertex count thing on the rutt example was ultra simple, but I don't think it would have occurred to me to set something up quite like that.

I like how you have that one filter that is alot like the hidden CI Morphology/Cheap Morphology patches, except that the performance is better/different as well. The concept of putting filter stuff in plugins and actually getting better performance is almost a surprising thing on the face of it.

The OpenEmu stuff is pretty darn crazy as well.

Hey - I was just playing around with similar stuff yesterday.
Also basing on optical flow procedures from your profile, vade. feedback in vdmx with vade's optical flow slightly enhanced (added posibility to freeze the distortion map) and ported to vdmx as an effect. Parted with my glsl textured particles and other effects on feedback produced amazing liquid / vector like stuff. Even using tb_weird distort was pretty cool. The motion detection stuff on feedback is mental.
