Assignment: get a single shot master of any existing scene while only showing one character in the frame at a time. Design new blocking for the actors and the camera under these parameters.

This is a scene from Henry Fool by Hal Hartley. Henry is portrayed by a woman, Megan Jacoby, and Simon is portrayed by E.B. (a non-actor who would prefer not to be named). Blocking in the original scene is very minimal. There is barely any camera movement. Henry smokes and drinks a beer. Coverage is mainly close ups of each character, cut back and forth. The attempt here was to try reveal the same emotion in a very different context with an unusual choice for Henry (being a woman) while using the same dialogue.

Shot entirely on a Canon 5D2 with no color correction or editing.
