I have played with the Opera browser on my laptop, but never really used it in preference to Firefox or Safari. But I am increasingly impressed by what this Norwegian software company is doing on other platforms, from the Wii to the mobile. Mobile browsing on the Nokia N95 is a nightmare with the standard browser - so is the browser on the Sony Playstation 3. This is where Opera seems to come into its own. At MWC in Barcelona, these guys showed me how you can build a series of bookmarks in one Opera browser (say the desktop) and have those same bookmarks appear on your mobile broswer. Now that IS useful.

The point of this short discussion was to find out more about Opera Turbo, which allows you to browse the web on your mobile for less. In developing countries, where charges are relatively high, that's definitely a step in the right direction.
