Do you think you can live off art? According to Berlin-based designer Amrei Hofstätter if you can’t leave without it, you’re on the right path.
Inspired by the idea of misbalance and imperfection, and fascinated by Freud’s idea of the uncanny and the human psyche, Amrei Hofstätter is a multitalented illustrator that creates futuristic and striking vector psychedelic art.
Obsessed with the divinity world of origami that folds and unfolds, Amrei strives to explore unfamiliar territories and psychoanalyze her own process of creation layer by layer through the fantastic characters that compose her work.
After many exhibitions around the world, Amrei collaborated with Delhi based fashion designer Manish Arora for his AW2011/2012 collection, where she fuelled her obsession with origami through über detailed illustrations.
