For more than 12 years, Patrick McGoldrick has served as a youth pastor near Detroit, Michigan. On November 28th, 2011, he was diagnosed with ALS. This is a life-ending disease for which there is no cure. A few people live many years with ALS, but most do not. Patrick's disease is progressing quickly—and his ability to speak is becoming more difficult each day. On Sunday, April 22nd, 2012, more than 1,500 people gathered to hear Patrick deliver what may very well be his last sermon. Hundreds in the crowd had come from out-of-town, flying or driving from all over the country to hear what their friend would say.
Regardless of whether you are Christian, Muslim, Jew or atheist—you will be moved as you hear Patrick—a father, a husband, a friend and a pastor—share inspiring words while staring death in the face.
