Not long ago, some big relationships in my life ended painfully. I conceived this song and video together - not knowing it at the time - as a way to deal with the transition.

The characters in the story - monsters really - are aspects of myself I longed to meet. Now that we're friends, they're not as bad as I thought.

The "other people" the narrator mentions are not just other people. The "town" he's tired of is not just a town. Know what I mean??
