This is a video prototype of an iPhone media player that uses RFID embedded in physical objects to control media playback.

Cool, one of the more creative uses for RFID.

Quite cool, although content needs to be preloaded on the device. The idea of RFID triggers is very effective though (and so is Moomin' Peikko!)

Why could it not link to an Youtube or any other video/media online? The RFID object can easily be matched to its URL in a DB or actually store the URL in itself. Would be nice to slap the Norris figure and instantly be treated to the Chuck factor on Hulu...

Yes. Delegating to remote content via URL is the way to go. See Mike's idea below.

Cool. Walk into a store, pass your iPhone over an item and details instantly stored on phone for comparison shopping or browsing later. Anyone interested in setting company up?

Works with barcodes too. I think there's already something.

Nice video! Cool tech and an iPhone always > Cool tech and other display :D.

Indeed, the first thing one'd like to add is a dynamic link to the media. Linking this to touchatag.com would make the RFID objects and the associated media shareable.
(or am I too biased in this :-) )

Great concept but would love to see it on phones other than the iPhone, I will never get an iPhone.

I appreciate how thoughtful the content layers are in your video & the simple quality of the presentation. Too often these aspects are absent
