One of the toughest parts of planning a stand up mission on the Yukon River is determining how to get a board there. From Chattanooga, Tennessee to Whitehorse is right about 3,600 Miles. The distance is a long ways and so is the potential for the board to get damaged while in transit. Trucking companies too often damage fragile goods like high performance kayaks and sups so I hesitated for a long time. I posted a message on Facebook asking if anyone knew of anyone driving to the Yukon Territory anytime soon. From the responses my facebook friends got a pretty good laugh that I would even post that as a request. But then sure enough, a couple leads started to trickle in. Then my new best friend Michael got in touch and said he would be leaving St. Louis within 10 days. From this point the video posted here shares the story. I took the board out for one last nice glide, then spent 2 days packing the board with lots of foam, bubble wrap, then more foam. The drove to St. Louis and back, roughly 1,000 mile round trip from Chattanooga. Learn more about this mission at www24yuksup.com
