I shot the video backing plate in HD then brought it into a Camera Motion Tracking software package. imported the background video plate. I brough that data into a 3D graphics program and I attached the motion data to the virtual camera. Then I matched the 3D virtual lighting to the original background footage. A shadow catcher object was used to to create the virtual shadow on the road again to help match the lighting. A sort of heat-wave effect was also created to help sell the effect a bit more. The original sound, a voice-over, and SFX were added in the final mix using a video editing package.
