not everything on vimeo is funny

I was a pallbearer at my grandmother's funeral. It was really hard because I was very close to her. Imagine carrying the dead body of someone you loved very much. I felt like I was going to pass out when we carried her into the church, but by this time I had steadied a little bit.
Four strange things surrounded my grandmother's death.
1. anja was cooking the night before she died, she cracked open an egg and it had two yolks, which is supposed to mean a death in the family.
2. That night, I had a dream where I got to hug my grandmother in her hospital room and she told me "hasta luego."
3. Before she died, she said "I'll be home Sunday, momma." She died at 10:30pm Saturday, which made sense because she always arrived early.
4. When my mother called my grandmother's sister to tell her the news, my grandmother's sister said "I know, it happened at 10:30. I woke up then and I've been sitting on my back porch, waiting for you to call."
It was probably my strangest visit to Charleston ever.

wow - yeah - funerals in general are a strange business.
also - i too had a strange premonition about my grandfather's death just before he died. what's up with that ? are we all hard-wired into that stuff?
I also found it very uncool how the guy was adjusting the workings of the lowering machine. He was so out of place. Like a concert roadie showed up to set up the fireworks display for your grandmother's funeral.
Also, the extra commentary is so lush. It's actually completely contrary to this whole thing of vimeo and the internet (science vs. intuition) which makes it very cool.
Thanks.
