AARP member Diana Porter led the effort to bring a community garden to her neighborhood and in three hours, with the help of more than 40 volunteers, they turned a field into a garden! It’s an amazing testament to the work of 50+ to improve our communities!
Volunteers of all ages in the community installed deer fence, constructed raised beds and moved soil. Three of the raised beds are “AARP Giving Gardens” and all produce collected will be distributed to homebound seniors through Wesley Community Services.
