What's your secret for the blue 'flickering' artifacting at the beginning? Did you have to set a bazillion keyframes or is there an easier way?
ALSO -- definitely check out motion blur. Will add 50-100% to your final impact - I think you'll like the results. To try it, flip on motion blur for each of your layers, then turn on the global comp switch.

It took probably way too long. more or less 3-4 hours (give or take) a day for about 4 weeks. I guess I could have expected it though. As I learn more stuff I'm sure over time I'll get a bit faster.
