Tried to catch some impressions of the most beautiful time here in Japan, the cherryblossom season. Actually, my JVC HD-3 has its weakpoints with nightshots but I forgot to take a normal digital camera for making a proper timelapse that day. Hope, everybody enjoys the video and visit Tokyo someday. It is worth joining the cherryblossom at least once in life ... in reality much more beautiful than I could catch with my cam.

Wundervoll !!! Unglaublich schön, diese blühende Kirschbäume! Bei uns blühen die auch ... Aber in Japan ist es einmalig! Danke, Bernd! Ganz liebe Grüsse aus Deutschland! Zofia:)

beautiful! where is the place at 0:42?
  • James T. Kirk 6 months ago
Thank you ... and the place is "Meguro river" at Ikejiri Ohashi. It is a small river, connecting 3 parts of the city, Setagaya, Meguro and Shinagawa and there are cherryblossom-trees al along the river !!!

Hi James! OMG, you're the 4th James I come across today (yes, just today alone, 3 were from Lunch.com) & they are all from the U.S. I love the sakura very much & have had the pleasure of seeing them in person many times in Kyoto, Tokyo & Nagano. Just joined Vimeo & came across your videos. Great stuff! What's the name of the Japanese song in this video, btw? It's perfect for this video!
  • James T. Kirk 6 months ago
Thanks a lot ... and the song is from the group "Rin", called "Sakura Sakura". Cheers from Tokyo

You captured the feeling and spirit of Japan very well. I have traveled to Japan many times and I always appreciate those who can help others see its beauty and culture through video or stills. Great job.

  • James T. Kirk 4 months ago
Muss mir diese Jahr da mal was ausdenken ;-)))
  • Wolfgang Gaebler plus 4 months ago
Okay, darauf komme ich zurück... ;-)

    Alle Gute!

Wunderschön! What equipment did you use to get the opening shot of the moon?
  • James T. Kirk 4 months ago
Dankeschoen ! A friend was holding a green blanket behind a cherryblossom branch in the park and later, I just put it over a picture of the moon, using the "greenscreen" and "ken burns"-effect in iMovie 09. Very simple ;-)))
  • Håvard Ferstad 4 months ago
I see! Ingenious. You shouldn't have told me ;-)

I was fortunate enough to see blooming sakura in March this year - and I think you've captured the experience brilliantly.
