This was a project for my Motion Graphics class at Seattle Pacific University. Garden State is one of my favorite movies, but no title sequence! I wanted to communicate a sense of starkness and emptiness since Braff's character spends most of his life with a certain numbness and sedation. I also wanted there to be an emphasis on location and places that should feel like home not feeling that way, just as Braff returns "home" even though he hasn't been there in years. Titles transition from moving into hiding to emerging from the shadows, as well as from indoor to outdoor settings, as Braff's character moves toward trying to live his life unsedated. Footage shot in Seattle, WA.
Edited and animated in Adobe After Effects.
