The Bigger the mess the bigger the fun right? Shot on the 5d mark II with the 17-40, the 24-104, and the 70-200. I used the Rode "Video Mic".

Nice, the audio sounds good! Did you just plug the Rode right into your 5D2 Mic Jack? I know that some folks are critical of the camera's lack of manual controls for audio, and the auto-gain problem, but this sounds good to me. There is some obvious hiss, but for family videos or even lower budget corporate jobs, this seems to work pretty well. Love to know your thoughts.

I get the problem. I listened to this just now on headphones and the times when the girls aren't talking you can hear the gain go real high and you get a rumble. I heard the new beachtek box for this is supposed to send out an inaudible signal that tricks the auto gain from boosting in quiet situations. The truth is though that you can get yourself into trouble real quick if you've got to handle audio levels yourself.
