Inspiration for the design of the Vagabond is drawn from some of the original mountaineering backpack gear that early pioneers used to explore the unmapped ridges and peaks of the american backcountry. The Urban Vagabond contributes these elements into an moderately-sized roll-top rucksack that can accompany you through the city streets.

It has a single, large main compartment measuring approximately 24 inches deep (unrolled) or 18 inches deep (rolled down) by 16 inches wide. Two smaller front compartments, measuring approximately 6 inches deep by 8 inches wide, are perfect for more frequently accessed items. The roll-top Vagabond features two 3/4-inch wide adjustable closure straps. A simple yet functional and secure metal stud serves as the closure hardware, unlike a zipper which can become problematic. A 3/4-inch wide top handle is securely mounted with 4 hand hammered copper rivets. Two one-inch, adjustable shoulder straps are riveted at the major stress points and feature a metal buckle for adjustable fit. The wider shoulder supports comfortably displace the weight of the pack over a larger area; and with time will conform to your body.

The waxed canvas material was carefully selected from the best textile supplier in the USA. This premium grade waxed canvas is water resistant and thick enough to stand up on its own. Using a vintage industrial grade sewing machine, the bag is constructed with double stitching along all seams and major stress points. A second layer of waxed canvas was added to base of the bag for added strength and durability.

The vegetable-tanned 12-ounce english bridle leather straps are from one of the oldest tanneries still operating in the USA. The leather will naturally darken with exposure to the elements and your everyday lifestyle.

Solid copper rivets were chosen as the hardware for the bag because of their strength and unique weathering characteristics of the metal. Each copper rivet is hand set and peened over our anvil for a nice rounded finish.
