San Juan Unified has received more distinguished school recognitions in the last 20 years than any other Sacramento County school district.
As part of the application and visitation process each school identified two signature practices that they believed contributed to their academic growth and their ability to close the achievement gap.
Trajan's two practices focused on professional learning, collaboration and school climate. LeGette's practices included collaboration, professional learning and quality first instruction through balanced literacy. Each school has agreed to share information on their practices with other schools and serve as mentors to educators who want to replicate their work.
