'The Nine Eyes of Google Street View' by Jon Rafman
Named after the nine lenses mounted on a Google Street View car, this project is a collection of images captured by accident from around the world. This infinitely rich mine of material afforded Rafman’s practice the extraordinary opportunity to explore, interpret, and curate a new world in a new way. The world captured by Google appears to be more truthful and more transparent because of the weight accorded to external reality, the perception of a neutral, unbiased recording.
