GRAACC is a hospital that offers free treatment for children with cancer. In order to continue its good work, the institution needs to raise donations each and every month.
How 10 children got 24 million fans in one day?
On November 23rd, the National Childhood Cancer Day, 10 celebrities answered GRAACC’s kid’s requests and donated their Twitter profiles to the cause for one day. Each kid took over a celebrity profile to tweet about his dreams and day to day routine, raising the awareness of GRAACC and the need for donations to help the fight against childhood cancer. The children’s tweets impacted 24 million users – same number as Lady Gaga’s followers.
Results: the most successful fundraising campaign in the history of GRAACC; 50 times more donors than previous month; donations increased 4,760 % compared to the same period in 2010.
