So this was day three of our stay in Yosemite I think. While we had found an amazing quiet and private campsite by the Merced River (thank you John Rudd of the Dry Gulch Campground near El Portal, CA) there was no shower and the river was WAY too cold to really bath in. Contrary to Gaila's comments we were just funny looking and not smelling thanks to Fresh Baths that we got from Tom at Soundrider.com. Yosemite was everything and more, with just amazing beauty and tranquility. Apparently we timed our visit just right as it was the peak season for the waterfalls. In fact, we were privileged to hike right up to the final drop of a no-name (at least to us) falls that looked like it had a 800ft drop. I walked in and even made a lame attempt at fixing this funky hair. Sadly, Half Dome was not open yet so we did not even have the option of hiking up there. Mirror Lake as living up to its hype and we got some decent pictures and nearly froze our feet as we dangled them in the super clear water. More Wacky Wednesday videos as time and internet connections allow. We are now stopped in Lost Wages after 4 days in Death Valley - a story all to itself!!! I am doing maintenance on the bikes after 3536 miles and visiting Gaila's sister Pat and her family along with my awesome highschool friend Michele. Catching up on web stuff, laundry and other basics.
