“When [the crowd] could not find [Paul and Silas], they dragged Jason and some believers before the city authorities, shouting, ‘These people… have been turning the world upside down’.”

Theologian and pastor Ray Bakke: “All change is experienced as loss.” And there is no change that is more fundamental than resurrection: the dead being raised to life. The religious authorities and the crowd understood what Jesus was about, that in order to raise them up Jesus needed first to “kill” them.
