This short video describes how the participants and team members of the Skins Summer Institute decided on the story underlying the video game, and transformed those story elements into a playable game.

The Skins Summer Institute was the second incarnation of the Skins Aboriginal Storytelling and Video Game Workshop. Six participants from Kahnawake Mohawk Territory near Montreal, Quebec, spent fourteen days in July of 2012 learning the basics of video game design and production while telling stories from their community. The two primary goals were to learn a wide range of skills in digital media production while exploring how those stories might be remediated into modern media forms. Skins Summer Institute was an Aboriginal Territories in Cyberspace project, co-directed by Jason Edward Lewis and Skawennati Fragnito. It was produced by Obx Labs at Concordia University.
