28. Jefferson Transit prepares for May 1 bridge closure

To get people across Hood Canal during the six-week May-June bridge construction closure, Jefferson Transit had to boost its staff by 41 and set up a whole new operation at the temporary 1,500-car Fred Hill Materials Shine Pit park and ride.
