1. Acholi Beads Glimpse: Stepping Stones
The beginning of the Acholi Beads story. Our Ugandan partners had their lives upended by Africa's longest running war. See their backbreaking work in the stone quarry, and watch their eyes light up as our partnership gives them hope for a better life. For more info visit acholibeads.com

Thanks Rich! This is the first video I've ever made. Such a blast! I'm already brainstorming the next one - a longer, more informative mini-doc, I think.

Acholi Beads has the highest profile display location at the Market Street Traders fair trade gift store in Seattle. Be sure to visit when you're in town. They do music on weekend evenings - maybe a big Acholi Beads showcase evening with great musician friends of Acholi Beads?
You know, I used to get really upset when I heard my Buganda friends in Kampala speaking so disdainfully of the people in the Acholi Quarters, that it was their fault (and worse). But now it only reminds me of the predominate attitudes about Africa held here in America. Acholi Beads is changing lives (bikonyo kwede!), and changing attitudes, both here and in Uganda with their work and this awesome video!

James- incredible piece, your commitment is inspiring.
We are really enjoying working with Chris- he is a very talented film maker and are excited to have you as a partner in the process. We are thrilled to have you at Aesthetyx store in Huntington Beach on World Fair Trade Day May 9 to premiere your film- this story touches people and is helping re-build lives. We wish you the best

Scott, thanks for the great words. I'd love to make it up to Seattle and collaborate on an Acholi Beads event, perhaps after my Uganda trip this summer. Let's keep that conversation open!

Charles and Judy, thanks for the kind words. We love working with you guys as well, and I see a bright future of collaboration ahead. Looking forward to bringing our film up to your store in Huntington Beach for World Fair Trade Day!

I am so passionate about what you are doing. I purchased my first set of beads while vacationing in Hawaii. I am an Executive Assistant with a large network of other admins. I forwarded the link to everyone as soon as I returned. I wish you and the ladies much success!!! Great video by the way!
