Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite Valley on 4/16/09. With warmer temperatures in the forecast the waterfalls will really be putting on a show the next couple of weeks.

Great video! Such a beautiful area!

One question though, what did you alter in your export settings between this video and the earlier HFS100 test footage? Or what extra step did you do to the video after exporting? This video played back great on my ps3, while the earlier footage jumped and stuttered badly. I've been struggling to get premiere to output nicely for ps3 / vimeo and this video does it. Thanks!

This was edited and rendered in Vegas Platinum 9 using the Sony AVC while the Half Dome was done is CS4 Premiere using the MainConcept.

I am starting to really like the Sony Vegas for quick edits and the quality seems good. It is much easier to use than CS4 but of course does not have as many options. Vegas handles the HF S100 files perfect.

I am also lucky enough to have this waterfall just 10 miles from my home!

Really appreciate the reply! That solves the mystery for me. I'll have to give vegas 9 a try. Makes sense that a sony product will play back on the ps3. I wanted to directly encode to a format that worked on both the web and ps3 for tv viewing. Before I was running the incompatible video through xvid4psp to re-encode for ps3 playback. Thank you for saving me lots of time and endless forum searching!

Good to hear that you like Vegas and it works so well with the HF S100. HF S100 is on my list, looks like a great camcorder.

Appreciate the help again and thanks for providing such a beautiful window into Yosemite!

The only problem i have with Vegas is when there is movement you get all that striations and banding. I tried a bunch of different settings but nothing worked. When rendered in CS4 there were none, go figure.

Beautiful video, very well done. Thanks for sharing this, it made my day. Bridalveil is my absolute favorite waterfall anywhere, sentimental value and all that. :)
